Hole-in-one @ Crumpin Fox
By Rodney H On 21 June 2018
My round started out shakey with double bogeys on the first two holes. When I stepped up on the third tee, a 167 yard par three, I knew I had to concentrate because this hole is heavily guarded by both bunkers (front left and right) and a three sectioned undulating green. I gripped the club a bit harder than normally and took a practice swing insuring to maintain my club face direction at impact. I then addressed the ball and took my swing. I hit it flush and the ball took off flying high with a slight right to left movement through the air. It landed in the fringe on the left upslope of the narrow front section of the green, checked up and rolled down the gentle slope and into the hole. I looked at my son and I said, "is that in the hole?" and he said, "You got a hole-in-one". Yes I did. The hair on the back of my neck and scalp stood up and pulled the wrinkles out of my forehead. It was my first after 31 years of golfing. What a rush!
