Hole-in-one at the Lawrence Country Club
By Christopher L On 21 June 2018
I invited my father-in-law to play in the member guest tournament at the Lawrence Country Club in Lawrence Kansas. The hole-in-one occurred day 2 of the tournament in the morning of June 15, 2018. The hole was a 186 par 3 downhill with out-of-bounce on the left of the green and water hazard on the right. Using an 8 iron Titleist DCI (clubs I have owned for 20 years) I made good ball contact and the trajectory was nice. Due to the bright sun, I was unable to see exactly where it hit, but thought I might have a good birdie opportunity. When I approached the hole, I was baffled that I did not see it on green. I then saw a decent divot five feet in front of the pin, and that’s when my heart jumped. I walked up to the cup to find my marked ball resting at the bottom. I jumped in the air with excitement as we were all in shock and celebrated!
