Grandson's first Round

My Grandson, Gannon, was visiting our house for a week. He had been in the junior golf program & Camp at LaFortune Park, Tulsa. He really loved the sport and was anxious to learn how to hit the ball and play the game. I took him out, one afternoon, to play the Par 3 course at LaFortune. I felt that it would be more inviting and less intimidating than the full par 72 course. Low and behold, as we teed off on #7, my grandson Gannon cleared the creek that crossed the fairway some 40 yards down range. This in itself was a landmark moment. We celebrated as if it had gon in the hole. But, as I live and breath, I step up and "Ace" the number 7, a 176 uphill par 3. I knew it looked and felt good off the tee. I knew it looked to be "On Line" but with the incline, we could not see the green, only the top 1/2 of the flag. Well to finish the story, on our first golf round together, his "PaPa Newt" hits a hole-in-one. A HUGE DEAL for me, but for Gannon. His thought was "That's what you're suppose to do." I guess he's right.
