My shot occurred on the 6th hole of the Pineview nine of Gordon Lakes GC on Ft. Gordon, GA. I was using a souvenir Pro V1 ball with an Augusta National logo. The hole was a back left location playing 151 yards from the white tees. It bounced about 5-6 feet in front of the hole and took a couple small hops before dropping in clear vision from the tee. I was playing with a recently promoted Captain and his father in town over the weekend for the promotion. CPT Cameron Cain and his father Jerry Cain were just as excited as I was even though Jerry missed seeing the shot as he stepped into the nearby restroom. He certainly heard our reaction. Just a few holes later on the back nine Jerry missed his own hole-in-one by an inch. Another rotation and we would have had a really unique story.
