We started our annual golf trip this year with a pre-flight round near the airport in Indianapolis, IN at West Chase Golf Club. Pretty fall day - perfect dry conditions. My round was pretty up and down, but was really just a warm up round before the main event in Orlando. We got to the 182 yard par 3 14th hole and my buddy Mark hit first. He pulled his into a clump of trees near the creek left of the green. My shot was well struck with a 5iron and right on line. The afternoon sun’s glare kept any of our group from seeing the ball down, but it looked good in the air! We began searching in the stuff for Mark’s ball to no avail, so he was going to drop. I approached what we thought was my ball just short in the approach. As I approached, I saw it was Mark’s ball, not my ProV1x - where was mine? My other playing partner Zach was a little long and wandered up to the hole for a “just to be sure” peek in the cup - then he looked up at me and just started nodding his head. IT WAS IN THE HOLE! So, the usual celebration began! And the other cool part of the story... this was my 2nd Ace, and Zach has witnessed them both! I’ll be scheduling Zach in my group more regularly from now on!
