First Official Hole in One
By Jim W On 2 October 2017
On a beautiful early fall day, the unexpected struck. Hole #8 has often been my nemesis although it only plays a little over a hundred yards. Well this day was different. I hadn't been playing particularly well, but on the previous hole, I almost sunk a 60 yard pitch shot coming up about 6 inches from the hole for par. Then on #8 the pin was middle left, one portion of the green that can be seen from the tee. Yardage measured about 105 yards. I used a pitching wedge as a gap wedge coming up short usually catches one of the front traps. It was high and straight, landing about 10 feet short of the pin. And lo and behold it rolled up and disappeared into the cup!! I was shocked and in disbelief, but there it was at the bottom of the hole. Of course drinks for all my buddies and a great story to tell.
