We were scheduled to drive to Alabama for Thanksgiving and my father n law unfortunately got sick so we had to stay home in Charlotte. The weather was perfect, about 70 degrees so I decided to get my buddy Blake O'Connor to come to my course, The Club at Longview to play. We hit some balls and took off. When we got to the first tee, there was a foursome. They offered to let us play through and said there was a friend of theirs playing by himself that had already teed off. They said we should play with him but warned us that he likes to talk! We met up with the onesome, Billy Smith. Billy was awesome and a character the whole time. When we got to the par 3, no. 3, both Blake and Billy hit their balls short. I got up to hit my ball and since Billy used to work for Pepsi, he said, "I'll take a Diet Pepsi". I turned around and said "what?". Billy said, "I'll take a Diet Pepsi when you hit it in the hole". I laughed and shrugged it off. I hit the pro v1, no 1 ball perfect and lost sight due to the sun. When we got down to the green, there was nothing there and Billy yelled out, "Diet Pepsi man". I laughed and started to look for my ball. Finally, Blake said,"Go look in the hole, there is a ball mark about 8 ft in front of it." I looked in and was very surprised. Billy was more excited than me I think and told everyone he saw for the next 15 holes. Billy actually took a sweet tea when we got to the club. Awesome Day!
