First Hole-In-One to win a Truck
By Ben S On 7 October 2015
I was asked Friday (10/2/15) by Greg Power to play in a Roswell Drywall Golf Tournament at Atlanta Country Club on 10/5/15. After a good morning of golf we ended up finishing hole 5 to find the cart lady waiting for us with some cold beverages. After we got hydrated, I asked her what the yardage was for Hole 6, which was a par 3. She proceeded to tell me it was 210 yards. This was the hole of the tournament where that brand new 2015 Chevy truck was parked. The hole that you pump yourself up knowing that you have a better chance of hitting it into the creek or the woods. At that point I pulled out my 4 Iron and walked up to the tee box to find out the yardage was only 184. The fact that this was a scramble and we had been drinking heavily all day, I bent down and teed up my ball. With no practice swing I hit the ball that everyone on the course had been trying to hit all day. The ball disappeared as it hit the green. As we looked at each other we started yelling and asking the witnesses if it was in the hole. They continued to stand on the green with no emotion. We jumped in the golf cart and rode to the green to find that my divot was on the back of the cup and the ball in the hole. Not only was this my first hole-in-one, I was also a proud owner of a new truck.
Thank you Titleist Pro V1 for the lucky ball.
