First Hole In One - Par 3 180 yards

I have been playing golf since 1997 and always enjoyed the game. I had lots of birdies and 3 eagles, came close to a hole-in-one, but never had one until 6-29-16. I have started playing golf with my good friend Jeff since 2012, when I moved to Houston, TX. Jeff and I try to challenge and push each other to improve our golf game. So, we play from the tips - no matter what course we play, we keep real score and he insists we play by the PGA rules, and still have fun. We both love the game and we enjoy every moment we get on the golf course and especially when we both have a good round. He is EXTREMELY competitive, and pushes my "golf buttons" once in a while, as he does not let me take a mulligan, makes me put-out a 6-in put, makes me hit from the hazard (be it water, snake or alligator infested area), and so on. If you knew Jeff, you would really believe me that "He makes my life miserable" on the golf course, but also pushes me to be a tougher and more focused person on the golf course. On June 29, 2016 I was playing golf at the Bayou Golf Course, Texas City, TX with my good friend Jeff. This is a course we both know every inch of it very well. I had a birdie, par, bogey, bogey on holes 1 - 4. Then we came to a 180-yard par3. I usually hit either my 5-iron or a 3-iron, if there is a head wind. The pin is usually either in the middle or the back of the green. On 6-29-16, the pin was in the back of the green and guarded by the right side front bunker. This time I decided to hit my hybrid. I casually walked up to the Tee box took a couple of practice swings and then I hit the ball. I had a pretty good shut and the ball was headed straight at the hole, but I did not think it would carry the sand trap. To my surprise it did carry the trap, and I started yelling (very casually) "hole in one", "hole in one". Then, I watched my ball disappear but it did not look like it went over the green. I turned around and told my friend Jeff, I think I got a hole in one. It was such a happy but weird feeling ... I did not even remember anything about my swing or the way I address my Tee shut. All I remember is walking up to the Tee box and taking a relaxed swing. By the way, I forgot to mentioned that I usually play with a Titleist ball, and prefer a PRO V1 or V1X. My hole-in-one trophy ball on 6-29-16 was a Titleist 4, PRO V1X. I have been using a Titleist ball since I started playing golf. I switched to other brands, but my best rounds were with a Titleist, and I hate it when I loose one. It was really sweet to have a hole-in-one with a Titleist on 6-29-16. Thank you Titleist and to my hybrid club. Costas
