Hole 6, on the Dunes Course, at Sandridge Golf Golf Course in Vero Beach, FL features an Island Green with an elevated tee box. The green slopes back towards the water, on this day a front pin location rested approximately 138 yards out. I tee'd up my Titleist ProV1x, #4, and swung away with my Titleist AP2, 716, 9-iron. The ball flight, a light right to left draw, was influenced by a slight downwind breeze. The ball landed nearly 10 yards beyond the hole, matching the spin nature of a ProV1x with receptive and quick greens. The backspin, coupled with the slope, set the ProV1x on a path towards the hole. I exclaimed to the ball "keep coming back", three times, until the it disappears into the cup. My brother and I stood in disbelieve as we watched my first hole-in-one take place. The round was my first after a six week layoff from the birth of my wife and I's first child.
Of course, the day, moment, and supporting equipment will never be forgotten! I can't wait to tell Rory, our son, all about it when he grows up.
Thank you Team Titleist.
