Went to try and hop on for quick round but club had tourney on main course so I decided to hop on the par 3 for some approach and short game work. On hole 4, a quaint little 96 yard straight flat shot awaited. Brimming with confidence from the 4 over par score I brought to the tee, I stood over the ball with my vokey SM4 lob wedge to face this highly difficult shot. Fortunately, something finally went right this round and the crisp contact and slight draw ball flight let me know the shot should end well. A nice bounce left toward the pin, a little check, and the ball quickly disappeared. Having never played the course before, and not exactly enjoying my finest round, I was hesitant to commit to the exuberance of a hole in one so I glanced around hoping for another golfer to confirm. Finding nobody, I quickly marched up to verify. Surely enough the ball was in the hole (still no people around) so I pulled it from the cup and went on to finish my round in happy solitude. Now off to find some golfing partners so folks will believe me if this sort of this ever happens again...
