After many years of playing golf I finally had my first hole in one. It was on the 4th hole of my home course. The Wanakah Country Club in Hamburg NY. I was playing a practice Round on Tuesday July 31st with my partner for our upcoming 4 Day invitational. The hole was playing to 163 yards. I tee’d up my Pro-V1 with a number 7 on it and hit my 8 iron. An AP2 712 Titleist. My partner remarked looks good. It was a nice high draw and the ball took two hops and a short roll right into the cup. He said “it disappeared “. I remarked “yeah I think it’s in”. Our third player in the group said “that’s a hole in one”. I said “yep, my first”. That calmly. I still didn’t believe it until I got up to the hole and saw it in the cup. Side note, our combined score for the threesome was 5. We took some pictures and then proceeded with our round. Of course I tee’d it up on the next hole without realizing I should take the ball out of play. I couldn’t text and call family and friends fast enough. Not to mention buy a bunch of drinks.
