I decided to go out on a Sunday morning and get a round in by myself. I got to the course and it was pretty slow due to it being a hot day. I started off great, hitting every fairway and green in regulation (something that does not usually happen). I played holes 1-4 alone completely. On 5, a long par 5 the pace slowed down and I was waiting for the green to clear, there was a older man and woman putting out. The person behind me (Derek) had caught up and was in the fairway behind me. He drove up and asked if I would be okay playing together, to which I said of course! We hit our shots and finished up on 5 and headed to number 6, a par 3. On the tee was the couple ahead of us waiting and told us to play through because they like to take their time, we said thank you and Derek went and teed off. It was a 123 yards from the tips with a very narrow green. There is water on the back, around the right side, and in the front. The pin was middle left. I went up to hit my shot, a gap wedge with a Pro V1. I hit it well, and was mainly concerned with it being the right distance due to the water. I see it land, skip, check and start to roll back... right then I see the ball take a hard turn and disappear. It looked like it hit the edge of the hole and dropped in. I turn to look at the couple letting us play through and Derek and they are all chatting by the carts not paying attention! I am in shock but do not say anything. We drive up to the green, with Derek ahead of me and he is looking at the green and kind of looks back at me as if to say "It looked good, where is it?" I park my cart and grab my phone and walk to the green with no putter, I walk to the hole and there it is! I tell Derek I made it and the celebration started, with the people back on the tee noticing what happened and cheering from back there. It was unreal!
