First Ever in 40 Year Golf career
By John K On 15 September 2017
I have been playing golf for almost 40 years. More lately because I just cant play other competitive sports anymore. Anyways, I have seen quite a few hole-in-ones by people who play golf as much as I do and by some that if you could calculate, their HDCP would be 200! I play golf on the weekends with a great bunch of guys at Westhaven Golf Club in Oshkosh, WI. We normally have anywhere from 3-6 guys show up each weekend. The weekend of September 2, 2017 it was just myself and Pat Connors, a low handicapper (4-6) himself. Pat is a great guy to golf with. Unfortunately, Pat was having a horrendous day on the course and I was playing well. We got to the 14th hole and I had honors (all day!). I teed it up and went back to the bag to club up. A little wind in our face and slight rise in elevation from tee to green changed my mind. I hit it and immediately said "looks pretty good". The ball hit the flagstick and was nowhere to be seen from the tee. As we approached the green, I looked in the rough behind the green first because the pin was back left. When I couldn't find it the thought slowly came to me that it was in the cup. No ball marks, no cup damage, just jar! The ball went in on the fly bottom of the cup, unbelievable!!! Up until last year I played Bridgestone B330 golf balls and hit swoosh irons. I made the change to Titleist Pro V1x and bought a set of Titleist AP2 2014's at the start of the season in 2016. I WILL NEVER PLAY ANOTHER BALL OR IRON OTHER THAN TITLEIST. I am changing my Taylor Made driver to a Titleist when I can afford it next season. Thank you Titleist for the quality golf gear you make and thank you to Pat for playing on 9/2/17. Without Pat, no witness.
