So after playing this game from 6 years-old, to being 32, it finally happened. I've hit the stick, the flag, ran up from short and lipped out, hit the hole on the fly, etc. I was playing at Durand-Eastman helping my best friend prepare for the Invitational there, and I've already witnessed him make one, 11 years ago. From 129, I pulled a 9-iron. However, I hit it way thin and it landed 10 yards short of the green, but on a good line. It ran up and almost hit the hole, but scooted by onto the backstop behind the hole. It came back down and dropped. My friend was yelling for it to go in on the way up and on the way back down. Finally, an ace! I almost feel like I stole on considering I didn't flush it, but sometimes you need some luck from the golf gods!
