First Ace
By Matt K On 7 October 2015
I was playing in a scramble to benefit a local center for homeless men. I was the high handicap in my group so I traditionally hit the first tee shot, approach shot, and putt. On the third hole of the day (#13 on the scorecard), I pulled out my wedge to hit the 100-yard shot and tee'd up my ball. Normal pre-shot routine. Normal swing. I knew I hit the ball purely but was unsure of the distance. We watched the ball hit just behind the hole (about 4 inches after a closer look), take one bounce backwards, and right into the cup.
This was my first ace and the first ace witnessed by my playing partners. Needless to say, we used my shot on that hole.
