I have been playing off and on since I was a kid. Played many courses and have had many chances. It's been around 35 years since I first picked up the clubs to get my first hole in one. I decided to go out and play a round after work this past week. Nice hot august day. Bogeyed the par 3 13th and moved on to 14. 14 was another par 3, and only 130 yard over water. I have a bad habit of hitting long on this hole, always picking the wrong club or swinging too hard. I grabbed my 7 iron and took a nice easy swing. Smacked the ball solid and it landed slightly left in front of the pin. The ball took one hop to the right and rolled towards the pin and it dropped out of view. I got in the cart and rolled up to the green and there was the ball sitting in the bottom of the cup. 35 years of trying and I finally got it. It wasn't my best round, but the 1 on 14 made up for everything.
