I had two previous holes-in-one (in 2001 and 2014) and a quick review of all three balls shows they were all with Titleist golf balls. The difference on Wednesday, November 2 was that this time I saw the ball roll into the cup! I was playing with several groups of friends at Montgomery Country Club in Laytonsville, MD . The weather was unseasonably warm. On the 6th hole (166 yards), I selected my 6-iron and proceeded to hit my ball onto the front of the green. It rolled a short distance right past one of my playing partners' ball into the cup. I threw my hands into the air (signaling a touchdown, I suppose) and groups on the two surrounding holes (my buddies) were immediately aware of my accomplishment. I didn't see my previous two holes-in-one: one was across a pond onto an undulating green and we saw the ball disappear, but didn't know it had gone in the hole. I hit the other one over a marsh with shrubs, etc. You could only see the top of the flag stick. I knew I hit it good, but when we drove around the marsh there were no balls on the green and I was really disappointed. Someone suggested looking in the hole and there it was!
