Conference Call Ace

Was playing an impromptu afternoon round with a few of my best golf buddies. It was an afternoon round during the week so unfortunately I had to dial into a last minute conference call for work, more or less to just listen into a conversation while we were making the turn to the back 9. We approached the 12th hole at White Manor CC in Malvern, PA, a beautiful par 3 playing 182 slightly uphill. The green slants back to front and favors a slight draw into the green. Since I was on my call I decided to hit last in our group. I put my phone down next to the tee box, put it on speaker phone (I know not good golf etiquette but we were the only ones out there and it adds to the story :-), and proceeded to hit my 5 iron to about 4-5 feet right of the pin which took one hop left, spun back a little, then dropped in the cup... all while I was on a conference call. We all proceeded to quickly get up to the hole, I ran to the pin to find my ball in the bottom of the cup. After the dancing, yelling, and high fives it sunk in that I finally had my first hole in one. It was a day I'll never forget and am glad I was playing with friends to share the experience with. ~ Josh C. (October 2013)
