Tracy G&CC held its' Senior Club Championship on May 19 & 20, 2018. After playing poorly on Saturday, I was not expecting much for Sunday's play. My front nine 39 gave me a boost and lifted my spirits. The 11th hole measured 138 yards over water. My playing competitors both hit nine 9 irons. I hit my ProV1x with a 6 iron. Two balls were on the green as we approached. The third ball was not visible on or over the green. After my competitors identified their balls, one suggested that I check the hole. Ace! My first in competition and 4th in 50 years of golfing. I was so excited that I couldn't regain my swing. Bogie after sad bogie went on the scorecard until a crushing 17th hole triple. A birdie at the 18th brought me subdued joy. When the celebratory drinks were consumed and scoring completed, I was surprised to find a big red 2nd next to my name. Golf is a wonderful game of highs and lows. This day was a combination of the extremes.
