On August 7th 2017, just shy of his 12th birthday, my son got his first hole-in-one. Playing along side one of his closest golf buddies, they approached the 17th tee at Emerald Hills Country Club knowing how treacherous this hole can be. Playing 116 yards to a front pin, he pulls out his 9 iron and hits what was said to be a roped dart headed towards its bullseye. Ball hits 4 feet in front of flag, one hop and rolls in hole! Ironically enough and during the prior weekend, I overheard he and his friend discussing how he hadn't sunk one yet, while his buddy has had two to date. My response was simple: "You will get it when you least expect it, and it will be glorious". Glorious it was, and unfortunately for me, I wasn't there to see it. But that moment will forever be cherished by two friends, and that is equally satisfying for a father. We now have two additional things in common: 1. We both belong to the hole-in-one-club! 2. We both achieved that goal playing Titleist; the #1 ball in golf! Thank you and please see the pic below.
