Blue Mash, Hole #6

Started very cold on this course. First time I ever played it, and my golf buddy is notorious for showing up 5-10 mins ahead of the tee time...especially when its an early tee time. Well, I was riding with him, so i didn't get any warm up in. Things had just started to feel right around hole 4-5...I was calming down, nerves were subsiding. Felt good about the shot - line was comfortable to the eye, yardage was good for a solid 8 iron, wind was helping ever so slightly, and we had Zac Brown Band pumping in the cart. Thinned the shot a bit, which ended up helping as it landed about 10 feet short, but didn't have the normal spin I would have put on a well-struck 8. It released nicely, took a small kick right off the hill and paused just before dropping as if to say, "this should make up for the huge numbers you carded on 1-5." Well, all my work to settle the nerves and get comfortable was thrown out the window as adrenaline immediately went coursing through my veins. I was handing hugs, high fives, and fist bumps out like candy. I duck-hooked my next tee shot into the woods and never really righted the ship on the front nine. But I didn't care. All the squares on the card couldn't erase the "1." In any case, this is my second ace, but first since I have actually known what I was doing with a golf club. The first came years ago - the result of sheer luck. Thanks Titleist for making the best ball in the world. Thanks for making the best equipment in the world. Thanks Team Titleist for letting me share this story. Good luck to all. Hit 'em straight and have fun!
