I was visiting my brother in Buffalo, NY. Buffalo is beautiful in the summer, and it was a wonderful day! It had only been about 3 or 4 hours since my plane arrived, and we went to play at 18 Mile Creek golf course in Hamburg, NY. We got put in a foursome with 2 older gentleman who seemed ambivalent about playing with a woman - especially one from out of town! I started off well, but found the greens to be as fast a ice! By the 5th hole, I'd bogeyed the men's #1 handicap (it was only 5 handicap for women), and by #11 a guy in a cart was stalking us because he had heard there was a woman out there that was really good. Finally, on the 15th hole, I hit the green with my drive. I never saw the ball and assumed with the fast greens, it had rolled off the back. The twosome we got paired with had warmed up to me by now and were thrilled to point out that it was in the hole! It was my best round ever, and I haven't matched it since. What a great day - August 16, 2013!
