Autumnal Golf
By Dominic B On 20 October 2016
I was playing in a Surrey golf union competition ( UK) and we had started on the back 9. After a few warm up holes, I was playing to H/C ( 12) when we came to the first par 3. Green was slightly up hill and crowned, so I wanted to get it above the brow. The yardage read about 145, so I took a 7 iron and hit with a slight draw. The ball ( a Titleist Pro V1) flew in the intended direction and disappeared over the brow of the hill. Suddenly the group ahead, adjacent on the next tee, started shouting, and it was only then that I realised I had a hole in one. The joy was replaced with the thought that having no insurance, I would have to pay out a substantial amount at the bar following - £175 later, I realised that life is full of bitter sweet moments !!!!
