First round that morning at Grayhawk GC in Scottsdale. Playing the raptor course. Was the 6th round on the 4th day there. Came upon the 8th hole which is about 156 yards to the middle. The pin was a little deep and behind the left bunker, about 4 paces off the left edge, so we could only see the top half of the flagstick. Although the pin was back a bit the wind was helping and it felt a little downhill, so I took an 8 iron. I pulled the tee shot a hair left and it took a hop off the slope next to the green. I hoped it would would kick down and on. When we all drove up I saw three golf balls and what I thought was mine, deep, behind the green, in the rough. Turns out it wasn't a ball. I looked a bit more and finally decided to check the cup. The rest, as they say, is history.
