Another bad front 9.....

So I will start off by saying that Highland Meadows (HM) is not my home course. Myself and 2 other home course members, Stacy Sorenson and Tom Lynch, came to play HM because our course was closed for green aeration. We were pleased to be joined by a great guy named Kyle Carver, oddly close to my own name, Kyle Barber haha! I had played HM, the only 3 times, earlier this year and had ALWAYS been extremely off my normal game for the whole front 9 on this +2pt C.R., 18-hole course. All 3 times I was 9 strokes worse front to back for a 92,90, and 91. The back I had no problem with, but this day was the exact same, extremely bad the whole front until hole #8....... After saving bogey on 7, I hit ready-golf , hit 2nd off tee on to a uphill, slightly left turning 168yd par 3 with pin alittle back-left from dead center. Green slopes front to middle with mounds all around but for the front. The back is 5 feet higher so the above average golfer can stick it on the back and spin it down to the hole. The green is blind though except for the very right front that slopes downhill fast just off the green, so getting the ball there is a must. I grabbed my 7 iron, stepped up, went thru my routine, and hit a smooth and powerful 7, on a dead-at-the-pin, right in line and it had great height, which I don't normally have. I saw it hit just over the front ridge line and bounce 1 time before dissapearing. My friends Stacy and Tom didnt see me take the shot but Kyle C. did. Once all had hit, including Stacy who almost holed out himself!) We were walking off tee and Kyle said "if we don't see your ball on the green as we drive up, its in the hole." We drove up, didn't see the ball, but Kyle ran up to the green and sure enough, bottom of the cup!!! My Titleist AVX had hit 15' in front and bounced 2 times before checking into a low roll, right into the cup (a viewing on-course resident told us). I was in disbelief because I have been playing since 8 years old with 1000s of rounds under my belt in 20 years with 6 years competitive golf during school, snd never had had one. So of course I honored the code and bought a round for the men with me, and left a tab open at the bar for any who pleased, suprisngly only ended up being $100 total. Still really can't belive it haha! Best worst round ever!!!!! Kyle A. Barber Fort Collins, Colorado
