..... and the legend GROWS!!
By EClapp On 18 August 2016
It was August 11, 2016 and I was playing a stroke play match with my golfing partners Kelvin and Gaiter. We were doing the usual - you know "trash-talking" each other while playing. Well, we got to Hole #4 on Miami Springs Golf Course which is a 179-yard Par 3 and it was playing into the wind. I decided to play the shot with my favorite club in the bag other than my driver - and that club was my trusty 18-year old Ram 23-degree Scoring Wood. I teed my Titleist Velocity #1 ball down low, and hit it with a 40% swing. It was spot-on line flying toward the flag and never left that line. It hit the green about four feet in front of the flagstick, and jumped in the hole for an ace! My playing partner, Gaiter, who was on the tee box with me said "That went in the hole!" I said "Naw... I can't tell yet." Our other playing partner Kelvin who was up in the deep rough (he hit his golf shot way off line in the woods) by the green yelled back "THAT DAMN BALL WENT IN THE HOLE!!" I laughed and kept focus because we had a lot of golf left to play. It was my second Hole-In-One and BOTH were made using Titleist golf balls. In fact, my first Hole-In-One was made from 347-yards - a Par Four Hole #2 also at Miami Springs Golf Course back in 2009. That 347-yard Hole-In-One/Double Eagle set the record as the longest recorded Hole-In-One ever made in South Florida History as well as one of the longest ever struck in Florida history. Gotta love these Titleist golf balls!
