After 47 years, My First Hole In One!

The Senior Men's Association at Bartram Trail Golf Club in Evans, Georgia (near Augusta, Georgia) plays competitive golf three times a week. About 50 or more golfers come together for fun and fellowship during these gatherings. On this cool day in October, were dressed and ready for 43 degree temperatures and a beautiful day. I played terrible (blaming it on the clothes) for the first six holes of my round. I told the guys I was thinking about packing it in for the day but decided just to enjoy their company and try to get my game going. The next 12 holes were magical. I strung a few pars together and the swing felt pretty good. The score card was getting better also. We got to a 155 yard par 3 over a large hazard. I hit a high 6 iron shot that looked like it stopped just short of the hole, and then it disappeared. I was so excited over the event, I played the next hole with the same ball. Luckily, I did not lose it. It ends happily as I birdied the next hole and the golf ball is headed for the trophy shop! I'm 62 years old. It only took 47 years for this to happen. It's a GREAT FEELING!!!!!! The photo is of me with Bill Fumai, PGA Assistant Golf Professional at Bartram Trail. He was in the Pro shop and got the happy phone call as soon as we took the ball out of the hole. Food and drinks for all.
