Aces shared with Dad

On Monday June 19th, 2017 I shot my first ever hole-in-one at Hillcrest Golf Club in Findlay, Ohio. I've been playing golf for about 30 years and witnessed a few and heard of plenty others from friends and family, but never had one of my own. Hole #12 is a short 150 yard par 3 with water behind and to the right of the green. The pin was in the front and after hitting my 9 iron I knew I would be a little deep. Like most golfers, I begged the ball to, "Get down!" My Titleist NXT Tour S listened and hit the green about 10 feet behind the hole. You could see that it had spun back and was trickling toward the cup. I pleaded and Dad demanded, "just go in the hole!" When the ball disappeared I turned to my dad, almost in disbelief, questioning him if it went in. He had a big smile on his face. I gave him a high five and shouted. I couldn't wait to finish the round and have a drink with him! This great game of golf has provided many opportunities and experiences in my life. I witnessed my Dad's only career ace 8 years ago on the 4th of July in 2009 at Hidden Creek Golf Club in Beaverdam, Ohio. It was a special moment to have him witness my only one as well! My brother recorded his only ace many years ago as a youngster at Country Acres Golf Course in Ottawa, Ohio. I wish he were with us that day as well. I was happy to report to him that I had finally joined the club! The three of us will continue to share many great moments on the course, no matter how well or poor we are playing!
