Ace #4
By Mitch B On 4 July 2018
I’ve heard others talk about sharing their hole in one stories and I decided after having four of them it was about time. I was playing with my son Carson this afternoon at our home course, Kalispel Golf & CC, in Spokane WA. We had both been playing well until we got to the 7th hole, a long par 3 playing 197 yards. We both hit bad tee shots and then bad 2nd shots, by the time the dust settled I had a 5 and he had a 6. The next hole is a par 5 which I parred and he bogeyed. The 9th hole is a shorter par 3, and I told Carson we needed to shoot par or better to redeem ourselves for how we played #7. The hole was playing 147 yards with a little wind in our face, which sets up perfect for my 8-iron. I put a good swing on it and the ball was tracking at the flag with a high draw; when it came down it disappeared. No sound, nothing. Carson and I looked at each other shocked. I knew I hit it perfect but couldn’t believe it actually went in. We were pretty sure it did but it was just the two of us so we waited to celebrate until we could verify it happened. When we approached the green we didn’t see a ball anywhere so I went and checked the cup and boom, it was in the hole. The amazing thing was it didn’t even touch a blade of grass around the edge of the cup. This hole-in-one is definitely the most memorable so far. As the title says this is #4, and I’m happy to report all my aces have been with Titleist Pro V1 balls.
