A trail in the morning dew.

A cool Sunday morning in Central Iowa provided a great setting for my first official "ace". My friend, Troy, and I like to tee off at sunup on the weekends as long as the weather and the seasons allow us.
This particular September (9-9-18) morning was exceptional weather for golfing and we had completed six holes when we walked up to the par 3 seventh hole. This hole is a blind tee shot. Players tee off below the hole over water through an opening in the tree line up to a green that only shows the top of the flag stick. You never actually see the ball land or discover where it comes to rest until you walk up to the green. We both teed off and watched our balls fly into the blue September sky and disappear as they fell back to earth out of our view. Troy reached the green first and was looking behind the green as it drops off a few feet and obscures balls that roll past. I asked if my tee shot had rolled off the back. He said, "Look at the trail. You got an ace." "Hand me your phone and I'll take your picture."
