A shot the junior program will never forget
By JS Golf On 4 August 2016
I am a Head Pro in the northern Chicago area and was spending the day on the course playing with our JR golf program. Standing on the 6th hole on a pretty short par 3 that has water surrounding the green. One of the juniors asked me to tee off from the tips instead of the jr tees. Knowing that the Gap wedge I had in hand wouldn't carry the water.. I swung out of my shoes. It was the highest flying wedge I have ever hit and thought it was short but to my amazement the ball landed about 12 feet past the pin and spun back with a ton of speed. The ball hit the center of the cup and disappeared. I still cannot believe my first ace happened with 12 kids cheering me on. I'll never forget the look on their faces, especially when the beverage cart came rolling around and I got them each a gatorade.
