A hole in one to salvage a wet round of golf

Hole # 16
Par 3 152 yards
The rain had been pouring down on our two foursomes the entire front 9. If 2 members of the group weren't playing in a match play tournament verse each other this round would have been called long ago. Eventually the rain subsided for the back nine but the course conditions left much to be desired. As we approached hole 16 the sun began sneaking through the clouds. The hole was in the center of the large uphill green. As I hit my pitching wedge I screamed for my Pro V1x to get going, fearing I left the shot short. The ball seemed to get caught in the cross wind and began tracking towards the whole, landing about 8 feet past the whole. The next few seconds felt like hours as our group watched the ball creep back down towards the hole. "GET IN. GO IN THE HOLE" we all yelled....then the ball disappeared into the water filled cup and our group erupted. One shot that made a previously forgettable round into a day that I'll always remember!
