A dream at The Dream

My friend scoped the flag at 167 yds. and I unconsciously grabbed my 8 iron; it was my turn to go first. I set the tee in the ground and hit the ball while they were still jabbering in my backswing. It was a laser shot right at the slightly elevated #5 hole completely over water with a fountain shooting water across the sundrenched setting. Someone said " it's right at it" then " it has a chance" . Then silence until
the second bounce and we saw it disappear. I spun around with my mouth hanging open and the other three rushed to grab me and slap high fives. They couldn't believe it . No one had ever had one let alone seen one while golfing. It only took 33 years, but those are the things that make the game so special. Ironically, my playing partner hit it right at the pin and it bounced twice and stopped about 20 inches below the cup. I can't think of what might have happened if that rolled it and cancelled my ace .
