A blind hole in one

It happened on the 14th hole in "The Crossing" Golf course in Carlsbad, Ca. The hole was located on the left side and front of the green. I can only see the flag and not the hole because an uphill fareway. We had a foursome on the next tee box looking down on us while waiting for their fareway to clear. They had a full view of the green. I hit a pitching wedge aiming to the middle of the green. The ball flew a draw and landed 3 ft passed the hole, spun back and rolled into the hole. My buddies on the next tee box all jumped and shouted in excitement "HOLE IN ONE". I will never forget how they all jumped and yelled at the same time. I knew my ball was flew towards the hole but I was skeptical because these guys are known to make pranks. As we drove closer to the hole and saw no ball around the hole, I realized then it wasn't a prank. I really did hole it! After years and years of playing this wonderful sport, I finally holed one. It was my first one ever, I've been playing for more than 10 years. This one made my day alright. The best part is we had a money pool within our club for a hole-in-one. The prize was over $400. So, I bought everybody lunch at the local buffet restaurant after the game. There is no place better than "The Crossing" to get a hole in one. The good folks at the pro shop awarded me a certificate and a vacation package for five days in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I was so excited to come home and tell my wife. Next stop, VIVA MEXICO!!!
