9th in 1

The ninth hole at my local muny is an uphill par 3 that plays about 170 yards with a green that slopes dramatically left to right, and this is my local stomping ground until my cc opens up in the spring. You have to kill a 9 nine iron to have the loft to get up and if your short and catch the fringe, there's a deep bunker on the front left that you have to carry and the front right forms "The Vortex"- a funnel that catches your ball and deposits it into a creek. On this particular day, since the wind was to my face, I tried an 8 to get the distance rather than the loft of a 9, to make sure I carry it far enough. I ended up catching the ball slightly thin, and didn't get quite the height I was looking for, and hit a punch right into the top lip of the bunker. The ball popped up, and caught the down slope on the green and ended up rolling in to a back right hole location where the green begins to flatten out. It was a stroke of pure luck, but hey, an Ace is an Ace!
