It was a beautiful, sunny day with the temperature around 80 degrees. I had played this course, Sanctuary Lake, in Troy, Michigan, many times in the past but the par 3, hole #7, proved to be magical for me on this particular day, Sunday, October 7, 2018 . At the tee box, I took my 7 iron and placed my Prov1 ball on the tee for a 129 yard shot. Before hitting it, my friend mentioned that the hole was in one of the most visible spots on the green but making a hole-in-one always eluded me no matter if the hole was visible from the t-box or not. With a smooth, controlled swing I hit the shot that was "40 years in the making" since the first time I hit a golf ball at the age of 18. With a straight, picture-perfect ball flight the ball landed just 3 feet directly in front of the hole then released and rolled into the cup. It was totally unexpected but ultimately an extremely joyful event for me with congratulations received from my playing partners.
