July 27th, 2018, just finished with a 3 putt bogey on hole one. My buddy paring it and of course talking smack. We then approached the 2nd tee box @ Bay Tree. I scoped the flag and it read an even 160 yards to the flag and in front of the tees were some tall bushes, blocking most of the flag view. I pulled out my 8 iron, and with one smooth strike it was soaring toward the flag with a little right to left draw on it. My buddy screamed get in the hole, while the other two Debby downers said "it went over in the bunker". As we approached the green we looked in the trap but no ball. We then looked over to the right where there was a small hill, and again nothing. I turned and ran for the flag, and to my amazement there it was Titleist ProV1x just sitting there looking out at me. Man what a feeling. Four years ago I moved to Florida from Iowa, when I did, everyone kept telling me that I should learn to golf. Finally after a couple of outings invites, I finally accepted. I hit every shot absolutely horrible except that one at the end and that made me fall in love with the game. I continued to play everyday of the week and soon enough was getting very good. We were in league (5-20-2015) on a Wedday and I was that guy that hit the 3 wood for anything over 175, and was good with it. After being at a 51 after 8 holes, we approached the 9th hole @ the Majors and I started off with a long 3 wood drive that covered an easy 260 yards. I was on the left side of the fairway bunker, in the rough, with 241 yards out. The other teams were still on the green and my buddy said "just hit it, you will never make it to them". I setup, swung, and watched the ball just soar. I saw the group throw their hands up and run crazy around the green. They came back and insisted I buy a round for hitting into them and then said they left the ball in the hole for me. MAN WHAT A FEELING!
