My first hole-in-one after almost fifty years of golf. My wife, Fran and I, were spending Labor Day week/weekend with my relatives. We were playing golf with my brother and father and it was a sunny but cool morning. The hole-in-one happened on the third hole, 135 yards with a 7 iron. When I hit the ball we (brother, Dad and I) thought it went through the green. It is a very small and tight green and it was back in to the sun, a little bit. Fran thought to herself that it went in the hole but did not want to say anything, she said she did not want to jinx it. Dad and I drove up by the green and looked beyond the green with no luck. Then I walked up to the hole and there it was. I could not believe it. When I looked back at Fran she had a big grin on her face and said I knew it was in. It is a moment I will never forgot and it was great to have family there to share it with.
