1st Ace During State Am Qualifier

In my fifth season golfing, I carded my first Ace during our local qualifier for the Michigan Amateur Championship. My wife was caddying which made it even more special, and the guys in my group and small contingent of supporters were all so happy and congratulatory. The hole was tucked behind a bunker front left so we couldn't see the cup. My shot was a high 1-2 yard cut that looked perfect from the tee. I told my wife/caddie that it should be pin high. As we approached, one of my playing partners asked if I'd like him to look in the cup for me when I noticed him walk over my pitch mark that was 6-feet from the pin. I knew my ball couldn't be anywhere else but in the hole. We both sort of timidly peeked in the cup and there it was! 187-yards, #4 on the Moor course at Boyne Highlands, June 1, 2017. Titleist Pro V1. Great memory!
