115 Yard Shot

I had not been hitting my irons very well the last few rounds. Number 12 has different challenges. You are on an elevated tee with power lines overhead, a canal and then a sand trap all in front of the green. When you use an iron you might hit the power lines; a miss hit and you are in the canal or sand trap; or it will just stop when it lands. Pin placement today 7/7/2016 was 115 yards in the back. I was golfing on my Thursday Senior Ladies Day at Centennial Golf Course in Nampa, Idaho. I chose to choke down on a 5 wood and just tap it below the power lines, over the canal and sand trap and hope it would release to the pin not too far though since there is an out of bounds behind the green. I tapped my 5 wood which barely missed the power lines, landed just on the back side of the sand trap and it hit the pin and dropped. Ace!!!! It was witnessed by three of my lady golfer friends. I proceeded to the next hole and without thinking I teed off with my hole in one ball. I survived the water on the right finished the hole and immediately put the ball away. I was so scared I was going to lose my hole in one ball. I scored an 89 that day.
