10 year old - 2 hole-in-ones in 2 weeks

Everybody that plays competitive golf knows there are peeks and valleys, ups and downs, joy and frustration. Everybody that plays competitive golf knows there are peaks and valleys, ups and downs, joy and frustration. For my 10-year-old daughter, Chloe, it is no different. In her young career, she has already won 3 World Championships and is the youngest to ever win the Optimist Tournament of Champions (13-15 division at 9 years old). This past April, she competed at Augusta Masters in the Drive, Chip and Putt Finals which starts off Masters week. This is where her story begins....... For Chloe, her Pro V1 golf balls mean a lot to her, they are special. Each ball has her name on it in her favorite color, her favorite number and lots of artwork all over the ball in different colors. We are on the tee for the driving portion of the competition and they ask the competitors to take out 2 of their own balls. So, me being a good caddy, take out 2 balls and hand them to her. She looks at them and ask of she is going to get them back after she hits them. My response was that I did not know, she asks one of the caddy’s at the tee box and they say the same thing. She proceeded to say that she is not giving up her Pro Vs. As her dad and Caddy, I am in one heck of a situation. This went back and forth for a few and finally it was her turn. She went to hit her drive. In my head, all I am thinking is…you are competing at Augusta and the most important thing to her is her Titleist Pro V1 golf balls. At the end of the competition, Chloe finished runner up and she was proud but disappointed all at the same time…bittersweet!! But out of nowhere, one of the caddies that were in the fairway shows up with both of her Titleist Pro V1s that she hit on the tee box. With all of the emotions this made her so happy to get them back since that’s all she was thinking about during the entire competition. This is where the story gets really GOOD…… A couple of months go by and she decided to play a round with one of the balls from Augusta. She doesn’t think much of it. Chloe plays the mens tees and comes to the 3rd hole at Boca Woods, 169 yards, pin tucked behind a bunker on an elevated green. She hits her shot, knows it is a good one but can’t see the bottom of the hole. She approaches the green and doesn’t see her ball. She walked by the hole and happened to look in it and there it was. Chloe was so excited. She said “Hole-In-One.” She says the only thing better would have seen it go in the hole. So, 2 weeks later, she went to play a practice round for stage 2 of the PGA Junior Women’s 18-year-old division. Pulls out the other ball she played at Augusta and says, “Why not!” She gets to the 15th hole at Boca Grove, 155 yards, hits a perfect shot but this time she got to watch it go in the hole. Chloe jumped in the air and she said she felt as if she was frozen on the air. Chloe knows what her Titleist Prov1s mean to her. On a funny note, we compared the pictures of her selfies with her balls in the hole and realized she was wearing the same shirt both times so now it is her lucky shirt.
