I love everything about this driver. It is definitely more forgiving than the other 4 models and my spin went down tremendously.
Thanks Jim and thanks Titleist.

Coming previously from a TSR-3 running a Hazardous Black 5 gen stiff before I’m very very pleased. Of course the equally important shaft upgrade helped as well as I pulled the trigger on a Velocore Venus Blue 6 stiff shaft which helped tremendously on my carry and launch angle numbers as it’s a mid launch low spin, but that driver is sweet. Gained 2-3 mph on clubhead speed which translated into about 7-10 extra carry yards. 235-240 and roll out to average on the sim to about 265-270 average. I’ll take it at age 66 carrying an 8-9 index. Dispersion is necked in probably by 10-15 yards to much much more consistent with great forgiveness off my somewhat toe side delivery. But when I square it, man just jumps off the club face and that sound…..soooo great!!! I honestly wasn’t planning on buying anything at my fitting but couldn’t ignore the improved numbers - I literally hit my gamer side by side and the GT was glorious.. Love my flight now and even confirmed my ball as Pro V1x so it’s money!!!!

Thank you thank you Titleist for just and incredible product and the long standing history of excellence in manufacturing. I’ve been a fanboy for over 30 years now and won’t change for the life of me.

Bag is pretty much set with my T-150 irons, my TSR fairways and 4 Vokey Sm10 wedges topped of with my Cameron Select Squareback.

I was fit for in August 2022. Long story short, I elected to go to the 2nd Swing store in Minneapolis. I put my trust in the hands of Jacob to see if there would be a better option. He was thorough in getting an assessment and working through what was going on with the TSR.
As I expected, we ended up with a GT-1 12 degree. Without a change in ball speed, a comparison of both drivers outdoor I gained 12 yards and increased launch from 9 to 13 degrees. Much of this also involved a better spin number in addition to 1 more degree of launch. I knew I needed a change, but it never ceases to amaze me of the value of a proper fitting.

RE: How do you like your GT driver?

I got fitted for GT3 10 degree Driver in March with Graphite Design Tour AD IZ-6 Shaft.... If you hit a ball that hits near the top of the face and the paint edge - it can chip that paint. Not a sky ball but one that hits that edge - the dimples have left marks for me. I bought another head because of that and sold my first one to a friend. This is a flaw IMO

The paint seems to have too much thickness allowing it to be chipped or crack with an impact at the top - where if it were thinner, it would be less susceptible to issues with a high hit.

The thing that this head shines on is off center hits not being that different from a center strike.

RE: How do you like your GT driver?

Went to my local Titleist fitter today to check out the GT1 line. Hit driver (9), 3 fairway (15), and 7 fairway (21). All gave me improved height and carry numbers, and all but the 3 fairway resulted in improved distance (carry and total distance). The fitter and I agreed that I did not gain significantly with the GT1 3 fairway over my current TSr2, and he strongly recommended I simply stay with my current one. Placed the order today. Now to wait so I can compare actual usage performance over fitting performance.

RE: How do you like your GT driver?

I’ve ALWAYS had issues with driving accuracy but hit a good distance for my build. Two years ago I got fit for the tsr2 and saw an improvement in accuracy but I was still prone to the odd wild one. So two weeks ago I went to see my coach to try the png G driver series - they’d come runner up vs the tsr2 for distance in my previous fitting and were slightly more accurate for me.

Long story short, I hated the pings. They felt dead and I resigned myself to keeping the tsr2 as nothing else worked. Until coach asked if I’d consider another titleist. First he sticks the gt2 in my hands and to me (I know it’s just me) it looked offset and I hated it compared to the tsr2.

Next he hands me a GT1 and tells me to just hit it. I’m not a slow swinger so slightly perplexed at hitting “the old mans club” I start hitting it. What a club, unbeknownst to me if you stick a heavier weight in the back and use a normal shaft it becomes an moi monster. I couldn’t do anything but hit it straight and I gained ten yards….

Fast forward to this week and I’ve collected my gt1. On the course I hit some obnoxiously poor tee shots with it that still landed in the fairway or semi rough. This club is massively forgiving but it doesn’t feel like titleist is shouting about its benefits with the heavier set-up. I haven’t loved a driver or driven the ball this accurately since my r7 superquad. You’ll have to pry it out my cold dead hands as I can’t see how I can find a more accurate driver.

Anyone with driving issues I highly suggest trying the GT1 with the heavier set-up. Beat the pings hands down for me and looks far nicer to boot.

RE: How do you like your GT driver?

I did my fitting back in August with a Titleist fitter. It was a challenge to get better numbers than my TSR3. Finally with a few shaft changes we were able to pick up about 4 mph more ball speed with the GT3. After leaving I purchased the shaft Graphite Design VR and put it in my TSR3. I ended up getting the GT3 and have loved it since. During the fitting I was really impressed with the GT2 but my fitter did not think it was for me. A few weeks ago I came across a lightly used GT2 and bought it. When I put my shaft in it I was blown away. It is an absolute bomber! Still have the 3 but have been gaming to 2 ever since I got it.

RE: How do you like your GT driver?

Clubs near perfect... Went to see my fitter the day after Christmas regarding a new wedge. Got some gift certificates to his shop and purchased a new SM10, 56.10S. Has always a faithful club to me. 1/2 inch over, 2* flat. While there asked about us looking at the new drivers. He has always been my fitter for all my Titleist equipment and never steered me wrong. He said too busy and shorthanded to come back Saturday (today). Brought in old driver and a few Prov1s, after doing warmup exercises at home. Put together the GT2 with a regular shaft (soft tipped). Once we started, did not realize how much distance I had lost.
After hitting it. We went back to my old TSI2 with the same shaft he had put in the GT2, that he had fitted me for and comparied. Surprised that I actually picked up 10 yards. The old grey mare, she ain't what she used to be. Accuracy good, but the distance at 78, just has gone, but longer than my old driver. Taking my TSR hybrids and Fairways in potentially trading in shafts for softer tipped shafts in January when the get their stock in. Time for me to let my ego go and realize that I need regular shafts in the longer clubs. Went to regular in irons years ago. Do like the feel of the GT2 with the softer tipped shaft. Glad I have a reliable fitter. 33 years and counting.
