Just curious as to what you TT members do during the winter months.

I for one am not going on a vacation this year so I will be hitting the simulators. I am thinking about joining a men's league. There are some things I need to work on in my swing and I'll probably do that in the sim.

Our course has set up an in-door academy to give us an opportunity to work on our swing through the winter. It is only $400 for the season and we book tee times on-line as if we would book during the summer. This year I am working on fine tuning my new swing and reducing the number of occasional pull shots that have developed with my re-build from the summer. Apart from that I will also spend time in my basement on the putting mat to hone the stroke. My biggest issue with putting has been inconsistent centre putter face contact. I have found an adjustment (with some assistance) and need to groove that so it is natural when I get out on the links next spring.

That's another area I need to work on. My speed has been great this year but a lot of times I've pushed or pulled the ball. I've been able to narrow down my 3 putts to maybe 1 or 2 a round.
  4. Here on the west coast, we are fortunate enough to have quite a few good days to still get out to a heated range or even a golf course as there are quite a few still open. We do have frost delays and some days are very much in the single digits for temperature, and you keep your Prov!'s in your pocket, but it's still golf! I myself will try to get some lessons in and practice more so that hopefully come summer I am ready to shoot lower scores, especially with that new #2019proto ball!

I was in Kelowna BC during the beginning of November and I was surprised to see a course I passed by backed up! There was a lot of people at this course and the parking lot was full.

I plan on hit the sims this winter, a great facility opened here in Calgary last winter (Grand Slam Golf) 6 sims, a huge putting area with a bunker to hit out of. Also Golf Canada keeps their range open all winter. I hope to keep the fixes I made to my swing late last season on track until I get to Maui in January. Until then I will follow TT and Scotty Cameron online and try not to spend too much on golf Titleist product over the winter.

We hit up the Simulator a few times. Other then that I putt a lot in my basement and the winter is when I catch up on golf sites, watch on demand videos of big tournaments etc.
Golf season any free time I have I try to get out. So I call it my catch up season lol

Daily workouts in the gym. A few trips to Florida over the cold months. Also a good time to refresh the Titleist ball supply.

    Lethbridge,

Workout daily. Few trips to our club range and the heated driving shed as well as putting drills in the Basement Putting Green (actually grey carpet) it keeps the stroke fresh.

I haven't swung a club since end of October..... I'm missing it. I can't find the time to go to the sim with the holidays coming up.
  13. Working on putting stroke on putting mat for more consistent aim, stroke and roll. As well, hitting balls into a net in my garage.
  14. I practise putting in my office. I used to do it in front of the tv, but my dog kept stealing my golf balls.
Also, if the snow leaves in December/January there is a course in London that will be open.
A bunch of my friends are playing on the simulator, but I have not done that yet.
  15. Temperature is going up to 12 tomorrow. Rain is supposed to stop. We have a tee time booked at Pine Knot @ 1:12pm. Really hoping that we get to play.
  16. Weather was better than expected, it made it up to 14. One brief shower on the 4th hole, and then sunshine. Small amount of ground water on the 1st fairway, otherwise dry as toast. Greens were rolled. Made bogey on 18 to shoot 80. Awesome.

I am very jealous lol. My wrist is still injured since the end of October. I can't even make an attempt to swing.
  19. Mid December is looking good again. Hopefully we get out again.
  20. I do absolutely nothing except watch golf on tv. Winter is my hibernation time. Once or twice we go to the local sim with friends but just for fun. I can’t wait for spring......

I am working on the swing with a coach and inside a academy on GC2.
More connection on the takeaway and better impact position for the next month. Daily drills x100 each. ÂŦ

    Monthly lessons until May.

  22. Wow. That is dedication. A couple years ago I went to someone hoping they could tweak my existing swing and get me a few more yards. He wanted to do a full swing reconstruction which I was not prepared to do. Instead of seeking 10 extra yards off the tee, I decided to focus on my putting and reduced my putts per round from 29 down to 27.

Pretty much work on the putting stroke indoors over the winter. I'll get out on the course if we have a sunny day with temps in the upper 40s. I played one New Years Day a few years back when temps reached 70 degrees so I'm always a weather watcher.

Yes I watch the weather too. I think it was 2016 I was able to play Christmas Eve as it was 15 degrees.
  26. That year, 2016 I also played on December 23. Would have played Christmas Eve, but my kids were in a concert. Last year we played in February.
