  1. I had a fitting and AP3 with AMT Red gave the best ball flight over my 716 AP1 with KBS Tour, but I'm not really that convinced about the progressive weight of the AMT Red (plus 3 gram 8i down) so an alternative would be the XP95 (93 gram, same AMT Red 7i). Can any offer some views on whether the progressive weighted shafts offers and real advantage?

Secondly if I decide on the AMT Red R300 and ask fro D1 Swing weight will the clubs all be D1 or will the 8i PW be different?

    Thanks

I have the graphite version, the Tensei Pro Red AMC regular flex in my 718 T-MB's and i cant feel a weight difference. the overall swing weight will be the same in all clubs. I do feel like the progressive weighting has helped with flighting the shots. The long irons fly high and the short irons are easier to hit on a more boring trajectory.
  3. Thanks for you insights

I also play the Tensei Pro Red AMC shafts in my T300s. Do you use that shaft in your SW and LW too, or something else? I'm considering the XP95 as an option. Thanks for any feedback.

I have the AP3-AMT-Red (R300) and have the same experience as Dale on course. I came from the 716 AP1-KK 65 graphite, but went with the above combination as it gave me better results than the Tensi in either the AP1 or AP3, or the AP1 in the AMT.

Interesting to read that that the AMT in the AP1 didn't work for you as one of the options is to have been given is to have my 716 AP1s re-shafted with the AMT Red, but difficult decision to make with out being able to try the shafts in a 716 AP1 head. Why did you prefer the AMT in the AP3 over the AP1, or was it the club head you didn't get on with?

This started out as a semi-demo/Titleist Thursday ( on a Saturday) of the AP3. I’ve had some significant swing changes but was not intending to buy. The heavier AMT really improved the AP3 over the 716 AP1 - by about 10 yards. The best we got the 718 AP1 with either the Tensi or AMT was 3-5 yards less. The launch angle and height maxed on the AP3. It was such a sweet feel and the results were so good, had to go for it. For me, the weight graduations feel good and I feel more consistent from wedge through mid-irons.

On the issue of D1 using the AMT Red- only Titleist can give you a definitive answer, however, I wouldn't be too concerned with maintaining D1 as the progressive 3 gram increase would change the swing weight of the PW to D2 as a maximum which you are not likely to notice.
  9. I play the 718 AP2 with the AMT whites, and they are freaking fantastic. They feel seemless to me. Keep in mind if Titleist has taken teh time to research these shafts to go with their clubs, theres no doubt they work and work very well.
