    Does he play enough before the masters? When you look at Bryson and Scottie, they’ve both played more running up to this week and look a lot more course ready in my opinion.

    His iron play has been his downfall this season. Rory is ranked 152nd on the PGA Tour in 2024 for strokes gained in approach play. Maybe more range time with his coach? Seems Scottie spends a lot of time on the range with his long time coach and caddie, even after each round, tweaking his irons.

    I think you will have to check your #s here. I believe Rory said he was going to play more this year before the masters than he has before.

    Rory just needs to work on his short iron play and he would be fine. Just like DJ, before he became excellent with his wedges. As a Rory fan, it is very frustrating to watch.

    I think Rory's issues are between his ears. He has the game to win there. That bad round he had years ago when he should have won and all the media pressure has got to him. Whether he wants to admit that or not. Hopefully this sports psychologist can get him straightened out.

    As a "hacker" that sees his game come and go often, I understand how fickle this game is. I can only imagine how easy it might be to get off your game at their level. I think we took it for granted that sustained greatness like Tiger had was a norm. Even greats like Tom Watson lost his short putting and never won his elusive PGA major to get his slam and Phil never got his US Open. Heck, even Arnie missed out on his PGA win for the Grand Slam. It happens, even to the elite players. Maybe when he gives up and least expects it, it will happen? The 2019 Tiger win and the second Crenshaw win are great examples. Good luck Rory but if it never happens, you have been great for the game (even if you did take the money and leave Titleist).

    You heard all week how much work Scottie has put in on distance control. This has expanded to beyond his irons and is part of his entire game, putting included. We all have heard about his "putting woes" but he rarely 3 putts and is masterful around the greens because he hitting spots at exact distances and speed.

    It seems to me that Rory loves be the "long" hitter out there and continually tries to out muscle couses as opposed to playing them as efficiently as Scottie does.

    He was more accurate with long irons than the short irons..... He's gotta get the mental aspect out of the way!

    I think that Rory just has a case of Augusta-ites. There's been some other major winners that have been unable to "Crack the Code" at the Masters such as Lee Trevino, Johnny Miller, Tom Kite and the all time bridesmaid, The Shark.

    My 2 cents is he more worried about trashing LIV than he is about his game. He needs to keep his pie hole shut and concentrate on what's more important.

    As a competitor I can say this, those that don't regularly tee it up against the big boys, have no idea how the game comes and goes. I play with some real horses a few times a month, those guys are on the cusp of playing on Tour, or getting a real job. I've heard it from the horse's mouth, after a child comes along, the world changes, you don't have to think hard to see who I am talking about. Difference with Rory, he could go on a tear similar to Scotties, then again, a month or so off after the baby comes, Scottie might lose a step as well. These little runs don't last forever.
