VIJAY SINGH WINS 7TH OF YEAR IN TITLEIST PRO V1 PLAYOFF
World No. 1 Wins Bell Canadian Open, Tops 5-Win Week for Titleist.

Fairhaven, MA (September 13, 2004) - Titleist Pro V1x golf ball loyalist and World No.1 Vijay Singh followed up his winning Deutsche Bank Championship performance of last week by capturing the 100th playing of the Canadian Open. Singh earned his PGA Tour-leading 7th victory of the year on the third hole of a sudden death playoff with Canadian favorite and Pro V1 player Mike Weir. Singh, who started the final round three strokes behind Weir, carded a 2-under par 69 Sunday to secure a berth in the playoff. The win was the 44th of Singh's illustrious international career, half of which he has won the PGA Tour. The win also marks the 29th for Titleist golf ball players through 39 events on the 2004 PGA Tour, more than 7 times the nearest competitor with 4.
In addition to Singh’s success, Titleist players also secured victories on the PGA European, Champions, Nationwide and Asian tours, advancing its worldwide victory count in 2004 to 122, more than four times its nearest competitor with 30, and more than all other golf balls combined.

PGA Tour: Singh’s victory was his 4th in his last 5 starts. In addition to winning the Bell Canadian Open, Singh’s seven victories this year include the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, Shell Houston Open, HP Classic of New Orleans, Buick Open, PGA Championship and Deutsche Bank Championship.
With the victory, Singh now has a Tour-leading 14 top-10 finishes in 25 events.
The Bell Canadian Open marked the 14th playoff in 39 events on the 2004 PGA Tour, including Singh’s victory at the PGA Championship last month.
Singh topped a Bell Canadian leaderboard that featured 8 of the Top 10 finishers who relied upon Titleist golf balls for their success. Pro V1x player Joe Ogilvie finished with three consecutive 69s to give Titleist players a 1-2-3 finish:

PGA European Tour: The winner, who relied upon the Titleist Pro V1x golf ball, rallied to capture the Linde German Masters by three shots over runner-up and Pro V1 player Nick O’Hern. The champion, who trailed the overnight leader by three shots entering the final round, posted a 2-under par 70 Sunday to secure his second victory of the year. He finished at 13-under 275 for his 9th career PGA European Tour title, and his first victory since this year's season-opener in Hong Kong. Titleist golf balls have been played to win 19 PGA European Tour events in 2004, more than three times the nearest competitor with 5.
Champions Tour: Titleist Pro V1 player Bruce Summerhays fired a final round 8-under par 64 en route to a 15-under 201 tournament total, capturing the Kroger Classic by one stroke over three players including fellow Pro V1 player Doug Tewell and Pro V1x player Gil Morgan. Summerhays, who birdied the final hole, overcame a six stroke deficit to earn his 3rd career Champions Tour title. Titleist players have accounted for 15 victories through the first 25 events on the 2004 Champions Tour, three times more than the nearest competitor with 5.
Nationwide Tour: James Driscoll captured the Virginia Beach Open to earn his first career Nationwide Tour title. Driscoll fired a final round 4-under par 68 to finish at 15-under 273, topping fellow Pro V1x player Jimmy Walker and two others by four strokes. Driscoll's win is the 19th for Titleist players through 24 events on the 2004 Nationwide Tour, more than six times the nearest competitor with 3. The champion also relied upon a Scotty Cameron by Titleist Studio Design putter and a new Titleist 503.H Utility Iron. He is the third consecutive Nationwide Tour winner to trust a Cameron putter in victory. The 503.H Utility Iron has been widely accepted across the worldwide professional tours and will begin shipping to golf shops in October.
Asian Tour: Edward Loar topped a Titleist Pro V1x 1-2-3 finish at the Kolon Korean Open, shooting a final round 1-under par 71 for his first victory of the year. Loar edged Simon Yates by three strokes and Titleist ambassador Ernie Els by four. Loar, who won the Thailand Open a year ago, was the only player to finish in red numbers at 2-under 286.
